Guest House Bridlington




Grantlea is a Victorian terraced guest house with 4 guest rooms arranged on 2 floors. Room 1 is a double/twin en-suite, and room 2 is a double en-suite, on the 1st floor. Room 4 is a double/twin en-suite and room 5 is a double en-suite on the 2nd floor. All rooms are accessed by stairs with hand rails. We have no ground floor rooms.


We are situated a few minutes walk from the Sea Front and Harbour. The Town Centre, Bus Station and Railway Station, are an easy 10 minute walk. There are also many reasonably priced Taxi firms always available.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

Parking is on street, which we issue guest permits, free of charge, for the duration of your stay. This does not give a guaranteed parking space, but usually enables you to park within close proximity. • Our Guest House is approached through a small gate to the front door, which has one step, 10cm. in height, and a step over door frame to the front door, 80cm. wide. The entrance is illuminated during the evening, and the street is well lit by street lamps.

Main Entrance & Reception

On entry, the hallway is narrow, but not cluttered, with the Dining Room off to the left. It is possible for us to house a Walking Frame or a Wheel Chair in the Dining Room. • The 9 stairs, which has a good hand rail, lead to a resting step, before taking the next 7 stairs on to the 1st. Floor. We are able to assist with luggage at all times. • Please note, all stair steps are 19cm. in height.

The Dining Room is situated on the ground floor, and has 4 tables, each seating 2 guests, and is of a good average size.

All our bedrooms are en-suite, and are carpeted with short pile carpet. They have central heating, individually controlled, and colour T.V.`s operated by remote control, information folders, and tea and coffee facilities. The beds have fitted sheets and all season duvets.

Room 1.

This room is used as a twin or a double, and has the benefit of an extra large bathroom. When used as a double bedded room, it has a super king size 6’ bed, and in twin room mode, has two 3’ beds. The bathroom has a shower with a single outwardly opening door with an 11cm. step into the shower cubicle, a low level toilet, and wash hand basin. This room also offers two easy chairs and a coffee table for added comfort.

Room 2.

This room is a double room with a separate wash hand basin in the room. The en-suite consists of a shower with bi fold door and a 24cm. step into the shower cubicle, and a Saniflow toilet. The second floor is reached by a further 8 stairs to a resting step, before turning and climbing a further 7 stairs. The second stair case also has the benefit of a firm hand rail.

Room 4.

This room has the benefit of a 5’ bed with the option of adding a single bed in the room to make it into a twin room. • If the single bed is not in use, there are 2 wicker armchairs and a table in situ, for extra comfort whilst reading or watching T.V. The en-suite facilities are a wash hand basin and a shower with bi fold door and a 20cm. step into the shower cubicle, and toilet.

Room 5.

This is a small double room, with the wash hand basin in the main room, the en-suite consists of a shower with a bi fold door and a 20cm. step into the shower cubicle, and a toilet. • We would like to point out, that apart from Room 1, our en-suite facilities are small to average in size, not leaving a lot of room to manoeuvre. • Due to the nature of the building, it is possible to access the bedrooms with the aid of a walking stick, but it is not suitable for wheelchair bound persons. We will, however, endeavour to help all our guest at all times.
